Team Wins Championships Title (11/17/09) Congratulations to the Team for defending the Mens' Championship Title for the 3rd year in a row. This may have possibly been one of the best overall performances from our team ever! We had 3 athletes make 6 for 6 successful lifts, 5 p.r.s, and 3 Best Lifter Awards. In the end, Altamonte Men won the 1st Place team award and our Girls won the 2nd Place team award by a slim margin (1 point). To make our day a little better we won over our friendly rival from Jacksonville, Accel Sports. They still lead by one win over us...our record against them is 1-2. This ATC win marks the end for 2009. The next opportunity will be Sunshine State Games in 2010 where the 3-meet series starts again (Sunsines State Games, Joe Dube Classic, and State Championships). Great job everyone. |

You can also find them on the "Results" page link, which is located on the left. Remember, these stats will be finalized after States, Quebec (3 members lifting internationally), and American Open. This gives you an idea of where you've come this year and will determine awards on December 17th. |

More U.S. Athletes from Altamonte (10/19/09) Please join us in congratulating 4 more Altamonte athletes who were recently selected onto the U.S. National Team: Alison James, J.T. Barnett, Maher Baker, and Brandon Jackson. Because of their great performances at the National Junior Championships in March (San Francisco), which was discussed below, these fine athletes were called upon by USA Weightlifting. Alison, Baker and Brandon will be heading to the Quebec Championships (Canada) in November, while J.T. is heading to Puerto Rico this week for the Criollo Cup Championships. These recent selections makes a total of 5 Altamonte athletes being named on to Team USA this year....the best we've ever had. We wish these athletes the best. |
